ESNEFT Working from home VPN issues

We have applied a fix to revert affected staff devices that were not on the new Forticlient VPN prior to the issues today. Please be advised, If you were on FortiClient VPN prior today this fix doesn't apply to you.

You will be required to attend to an ESNEFT acute site with your ESNEFT Laptop to apply the fix to your machine. Please following the guide below:

We are continuing to investigate the VPN issues and are testing some potential solutions. Further updates to follow.

We are continuing to investigate VPN issues across ESNEFT. Please use remote desktop services where possible.

We are aware that ESNEFT VPN tunnels are not appearing for colleagues working from home on AoV tunnels, which is currently preventing access to patient information systems.

Our teams are investigating the issue and we will provide further updates as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Scheduled Downtime - Blood Transfusion Service - SafeTrace Tx

Details of downtime:

Service Disruption Period: From 10:00 am for approximately 2 hours on Wednesday 4th March 2026.

  • Non-emergency requests: Will not be processed during this period.
  • Emergency requests: Will continue to be processed as normal.
  • If your patient has blood components available before the downtime period – please collect as usual.

Samples:

  • All urgent requests during downtime must be submitted on paper request forms accompanying a hand labelled sample.

BloodTrack (Blood collection electronic system)

  • BloodTrack will be available during the downtime.
  • Paper-based tracking of blood products will be in place for any units issued during downtime.
  • It is essential that all blood product tags are fully completed and returned to the Blood Transfusion Department.

Planned Procedures:

  • Please carefully consider the impact on patients with planned procedures during the downtime and ensure all requests for blood are made before 9.00 am.
